Kent Brooks contacted Net Success in June of 2011. He had found us by searching Google for "Omaha SEO".
Kent had recently joined the Visalus Body By Vi 90 Day Challenge and had lost 25 pounds in only ten days. He was so impressed by the product that he became a distributor.
Kent wanted to market his product online, and asked us for a proposal.
We corresponded by email and phone for a week, then Ken suggested a face to face meeting.
Before we had a chance to meet, Kent also met with several other Omaha area "SEO Specialists". Most of these "experts" suggested various link building packages, and SEO optimized websites.
After reviewing Kent's product, and his market, we determined that a conventional SEO campaign wouldn't suffice. The search terms related to weight loss are simply too competitve. Kent could easily spend tens of thousands of dollars on a conventional website design and SEO package, and not see any real results for years - if ever...
Instead, we recommended that Kent forget about setting up a conventional website, and throw all of his efforts into a more radical approach.
We ended up building several sales pages for Kent, each targeting a specific market segment. We then set up corresponding Twitter profiles, with each profile targeting the corresponding market segment. We also set up a Facebook Business Page for Kent, user accounts on several weight loss discussion boards, and helped Kent produce a Youtube video detailing his experience with the product.
The plan was to use Twitter to bring targeted traffic to each sales page, then use the sales pages to pre-sale the prospective customers, build trust, then funnel them over to the Kent's user page on the Visalus website.
So how did it work out? Within a week of the launch, Kent was already making sales.
Kent has been able to get highly targeted traffic from his Twitter and Facebook campaigns, and the sales pages have shown conversion rates of anywhere from 1.6% to as high as 21%
